This weekend workshop will serve to outline, clarify and share training approaches to develop the fundamental coordinative abilities.
That is – the silent but pervasive threads which tie human movement together, ensuring smooth, harmonic, appropriate, adequate, and adaptable motor-control & solutions across all fields and disciplines.
“Coordination is not an accessory. It’s the architecture of movement. It’s the alchemical factor that transmutes raw capacity into skill. Coordination is how the whole system responds to the moment.“
~ Marcello Palozzo
Some of the subjects we will use to frame investigation & development of the coordinative abilities include (but are not guaranteed or limited to):
Space: innovative frameworks developing athletic-footwork, throwing and catching development, ground-acrobatic skills, upper & lower-body striking literacy.
Time: timing in tactical movement games, rhythm connection with music through groove in standing dance, pure reaction and anticipatory-based partner-drills.
Body: equilibrioception (vestibular, visual & somatosensory systems), joints-literacy work, balancing forms, task-specific tension-modulation, contexts training combinatory abilities.
