LMG

EVENTS 2025

November is the LMG workshop season. Three unique workshops by three incredible teachers. Find more info on each of them below as well as separate booking links.

22nd NOV - Finding YOUR Flow with Samantha Emanuel

At Prana Voice
Sat 22 Nov 1-3pm

£45 Standard Fee

ALL LEVELS

This 2-hour workshop explores how different movers find fluidity through distinct coordination strategies. You’ll learn short rhythm-based sequences, adapt them under shifting constraints, and use simple video playback (via specific apps which you can install on your smart-phone*) to observe patterns of displacement, velocity, and rotation in real time.

Rather than prescribing a “right” way to move, we’ll highlight how fluidity emerges differently across bodies — whether through consistency, speed modulation, or multi-modal adaptation. Expect to move, sweat, and reflect, while discovering how analysis can deepen practice across dance, sport, and beyond.

Open to movers of all disciplines.
Bring curiosity, a smart-phone, and an open mind.

*smart-phone technical requirements and options of downloadable apps to take full advantage of the workshop will be disclosed closer to the date

SAMANTHA’S INSPIRATION

This workshop grew out of my master’s research in dance science, where I investigated how movers from different training backgrounds — a dancer, a runner, and a parkour practitioner — each found their own pathway to movement fluidity. The study revealed distinct coordination “phenotypes,” showing that fluidity isn’t a single universal trait but something that emerges differently depending on the mover. Translating this into practice, I wanted to create a space where movers can experience these strategies directly, experiment with rhythm and constraint, and use simple observation tools to notice how their own patterns come to life.

SAT 29th NOV - Neural (part 1 of 2) with Guillermo Justel

At Chisenhale Dance Space
Sat 29 Nov 1-3pm

£45 Standard Fee

Requirements:
A comfortable 20-sec handstand against the wall

NEURAL is a workshop born from a systematic attempt at finding new ways of challenging the handstand that are not the usual shapes (straddle, tuck and transitions).

Manifold types of cognitive load to challenge our balance are explored such as unusual head positions, eye movements, talking upside down, sense restriction, inverted arithmetics, object manipulation...

Movement is still explored but more from an exploratory (dance and restriction frameworks) and interactive element (partner work).

In this first of two workshop, LMG’s guest teacher (and current LMG man behind the scenes) Guillermo Justel will take you through the more physical challenges. The second part of the workshop will take part at a later date and will focus more on less physical and more purely cognitive challenges to our balance upside down.

COSTSHARE PAYMENT

This is the first workshop where LMG will experiment with a costshare payment model. If successful we’ll aim at implementing it at future events. What is costshare?
